1. May 3rd Procession: May Crowning after 9am mass at Mary’s Statue outside then we have procession beginning to honor our beloved Mother Mary at 10:15AM at Hall. All are welcome.
2. YEAR-END ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TNTT, RELIGIOUS EDUCATION & VIETNAMESE SCHOOL: Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, Our parish warmly invites all parents and students to join us for the End-of-Year Celebration for TNTT , Religious Education and Vietnamese School on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. Following the 10:30 a.m Mass, please join us for the Year-End Party in the parish hall from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. All children in the parish are welcome, whether or not they are enrolled in the program. We encourage all students to come celebrate together and give thanks for a blessed school year.
3. ADA: To St Peters Parishioners the 2026 Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA) is underway. Our Goal for the year is $50,583.00, the average for each family is $425.00. We at St. Peters VCC will make our goal but we need all parishioners to participate. A lot of this money goes to fund the Priest retirement and insurance, and also fund the 18 seminarians we currently have studying to be Priest. St Peters VCC does not give up we will make our goal. If you have any questions please feel free to talk with me or if you need help filling out a pledge card see Kelly or myself. The cards are in back of the Church. Everything is possible with God! Eugene (Gene) Michael Jager, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Gene was born on December 12, 1942 to the late Michael & Margaret Jager (Senger) in Devils Lake, ND. The family moved to Des Moines, IA in 1960 where he graduated from Dowling High School. He received his business degree at AIB then joined the Air Force and served in Goose Bay Labrador. After his discharge he worked for the US Postal Service as a letter carrier for 29 years. He met and married Diana Weaver in 1970. He was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 1983 and served at St Peter’s Catholic Church. Deacon Gene was named Diaconate Director.
Deacon Gene and Diana served as co-directors of Diaconate Formation for 12 years.
Gene and Diana enjoyed cruising, and annual trips to Phoenix, AZ for many years. He was an avid reader & enjoyed coloring. He enjoyed spending time with his Deacon friends.
Gene is survived by his wife, Diana Jager, brother Vernon (Kathy) Jager and sister Barb (Leonard) Drabek as well as his four daughters: Michelle Hewlett (Rick); Marie Bougher (Tim); Marlene Burch and Martha Carre (Brad). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Tara Bougher, Taylor Edwards (Justin); Kayla Gruver (Jason); Reese Hewlett; Bryce Burch; Denver Bougher; Dominic Gunn-Burch and Colby Gunn and seven great-grandchildren: Trey, Roman, Nala & Julian Edwards, Cash and Hudson Kabela and Valerie Foreman.
